Last week

Well, Felicity had parent/teacher conferences on Thursday. She's like me (her handwriting needs to improve) and not like me (she's above average in math). She also needs to learn to tie her shoes, which is funny because I remember Mary Riley tying my cardboard practice shoes for me in first grade because I couldn't either. Overall, Felicity is doing very good, the teacher just can't let her sit next to her friend Emmalee, or both their grades would suffer. And probably the teacher, too.
All the kids are excited about Halloween, especially because Grandma Newey and Aunts Melissa and Nicki are coming for part of the weekend. Caleb is going to be Bob the Builder (not to be mixed up with Handy Manny, we don't speak enough spanish for that part), Felicity is going to be a fairy, and Joseph loves the tiger costume, but is too scared to put it on, so he might end up being a duck, or Bob the Builder #2. Seth has two costumes, too, my cousin gave us a cute bee costume and (hopefully) I'll finish his caterpillar costume this week. Felciity wanted to have a spooky house, which I'm really not into. So we (Nicki really did it) helped the kids cut out bats and jack o'lanterns and ghosts for the windows and I helped them make ghosts out of white garbage bags to hang from our tree. Spooky enough, although Felicity wants the orange lights and headstones and scary noises and all that. Going to school sure changes a kid. Well, sort of, she still wants to paint her pumpkins with rainbows and sparkles and pretty things. She's my girly-girl.
